Jackfruit Halwa (Chakka Varattiyathu) In Microwave



INGREDIENTS


Diced ripe jackfruit: 500 gms (instead you can blend the fruit and use the pulp)

Jaggery: 250 gms

Dry Ginger powder: 1 1/2 tsp

Cardamom powder: 1 1/2 tsp

Ghee: 4 tsp




METHOD

I have taken 500gms of diced ripe jackfruit. First take the jackfruit in a microwave safe dish and cook it high temperature for 6 mins.




Add jaggery only after the jackfruit is cooked properly or else it will not cook. After 6 mins take it and mix well, add the jaggery and place it in the microwave for 2 mins.

 

After 2 mins the jaggery has melted completely. Mix it well and add 1tsp ghee.




Mix well again and place it in the microwave for 2 more mins. Make sure to mix well every 2mins and add 2tsp ghee in between. Continue this for total 12 mins.

  

After 12 mins of cooking add the balance 1tsp ghee, 1 1/2tsp cardamom powder and 1 1/2tsp dry Ginger powder and mix well. Place it in microwave for another 2 more mins at high temperature.




Take it from microwave and move it to another dish to cool down.

Serve the Halwa once it's cooled.
