FRIED CHICKEN BIRIYANI

 


Ingredients:


For marinating the chicken 

Chicken 1 1/2 kg 
Chilly powder 3tsp 
Turmeric powder 1/4tsp 
Garam masala 1/2tsp  
Lemon juice 2tbs 
Salt to taste 

Rice

Biriyani rice 4 cup 
Cinnamon stick 2 
Cardamom 4 
Cloves  4 
Ghee 1 tbs 
Salt 
Water 

For masala

Onion 4 
Garlic 15 cloves 
Ginger large piece 
Green chilly 10 
Tomato 3 nos 
Curd 1 cup 
Chilly powder 1 tsp(optional) 
Garam masala 1 tsp 

Topping

Onion 1 
Cashew nut 20 nos 

Garam masala a pinch

Ghee 2 tbs

Method:

In a bowl add chilly powder turmeric powder garam masala salt and lemon juice. Mix together adding enough water. Put cleaned chicken pieces and marinate well . Keep this aside for 1/2 an hour.

In a pan add ghee and fry cashew and onion.

In another pan pour some oil and fry marinated chicken.

Then we have to  prepare masala. Cut onions into thin slices.  Crush the greenchillies garlic and ginger. Cut the tomato into small pieces.

Add one tbs ghee to the pan and saute onion when it turns golden brown add crushed  green chilly masala and saute till the raw smell goes. Add tomatoes and cover for five min for cooking it and add curd, mix well. After that add  garam masala and chilly powder (optional). Saute well and add fried chicken pieces. Cover it and cook for about 5 mins.until the masalas cover the pieces.

In a big vessel take enough water and boil. While boiling add cinnamon, cardamom and cloves to this. And then add rice. Add 1 tbs ghee to prevent sticking of rice. When the rice  cooked drain out excess water.

First pour a layer of cooked rice in a big vessel then add a layer of chicken masala. Then add the rice and above that sprinkle some garam masala and pour some ghee .
Sprinkle the fried cashew and onion on top and cover and cook in a low flame for five minutes.
