FISH CURRY

Fish 1 kg (മീൻ)
Kashmiri chilly powder. 5 tbs  (പിരിയൻ മുളകുപൊടി)
Chilly powder 1 tsp (മുളകുപൊടി)
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp ( മഞ്ഞൾപൊടി )
Fenugreek powder  1/4 tsp ( ഉലുവാ പൊടി)
Coconut oil 3tbs ( വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ )
Fenugreek 1/4 tsp ( ഉലുവ)
 Mustard 1/4 tsp ( കടുക്‌ )
Ginger 1 piece ( ഇഞ്ചി )
Garlic 10 cloves ( വെളുത്തുള്ളി )
Small onion/ Shallot 15 nos ( ചെറിയ ഉള്ളി )
Green chilli 4 nos. ( പച്ചമുളക് )
Garcinia Cambogia / Malabar Tamarind 4 pieces ( കുടംപുളി )
Salt as needed ( ഉപ്പ്‌ )
Curry leaves ( കറിവേപ്പില )

Place the fish curry pot on high flame and when it gets hot, pour 3tbs oil. Once the oil is heated up, add 1/4tsp fenugreek. Add 1/4tsp mustard into it when the fenugreek starts to splatter. After that, add finely chopped ginger & half sliced garlic. Saute it and add half sliced shallots along with green chilli. Saute well.
Reduce the flame and add kashmiri chilli powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder and fenugreek powder. Fry the dry masala and add water to saute well.

When the masala is sauteed well and oil gets separated, pour enough water to cook the fish and boil it. Add cleaned Tamrind and boil again. Add clean cut fish into the boiling pot and add salt as needed. Reduce the flame after it boils well.
Cook well in low flame. Add curry leaves on top and close the pot. Turn off the flame after the fish is cooked well & the curry is reduced to the required consistency.
